WAY Over The Top!
The North Iowa Tea Party recently posted a billboard that compares President Obama to the likes of Hitler & Lenin. My personal, humble opinion…WAY OVER THE TOP!
While we are all entitled to our opinion, this may have crossed the line. The leader of the Tea Party said, “It’s a statement on his policy,” and insists that it isn’t disrespectful to the President. I beg to differ. To put the President’s picture next to the picture of someone who orchestrated the mass murder of millions IS disrespectful! You might as well have put his picture next to that of Jeffery Dahmer or Ted Bundy! While you’re at it, throw up pictures of Osama Bin Laden & Sadam Hussein.
I may not agree with President Obama and I may not have voted for him and I may want him out of office and I may be against some of his policies…I would not compare him to a mass murderer!!
The group maintains that it’s merely about his policies, but I don’t think there is anyone who can argue the fact that the general public who is driving down the road and seeing the billboard will say to themselves, “Damn! He got compared to Hitler!” and not think twice about policies! If you have a problem with his policies, I’m sure there is a much more tact-filled way to get your point across!

Comparing Obama to such maniacs immediately invalidates any argument you have against him and instantly brands you as an intellectual dimwit in the eyes of anyone who has sense.
The Tea Party might have had a good point on some of their policies, but they’ve taken them over the top and gone to name-calling, derisive actions, and outright lying for effect. Thus, they are irrelevant and full of whackos. Whoops. Way to completely ruin your initially interesting take on politics.
Those who use the word, “socialism”, in regards to any politician in this country has zero idea of how to properly use the word and no idea of what socialism entails. As Inigo Montoya said, “I do not think that word means what you think it means.”

I’d say the old homestead hasn’t gotten this kind of media attention since somebody decided that River City in the mid ’70s had more porn per capita than anywhere else and even Time magazine paid attention.

Why can’t we seem to get anything but negative press?
